Officer Jessica WelkerI have been a San Jose police officer since 2001 and have worked various assignments. I am currently assigned to patrol. I am an avid runner and ran track & field in high school and college. I have competed in races all over the world and have completed six full marathons, including qualifying for the Boston Marathon twice. I have participated in the United States Police and Fire Championships (previously called the California Police and Fire Games) since 2002 and have won several medals in running events. I have also competed in different running events at the World Police and Fire Games since 2011. I have been on the PAAF board since 2006.

Sergeant Lisa GannonI was hired by the San Jose Police Department in 1990 as a dispatcher. I became a Police Officer in 1995. I worked Patrol, Metro and the FTO Program. I also spent three years with the FBI as a Special Agent. I was promoted to Sergeant in January, 2008 and was assigned to Patrol. I am currently a Detective Sergeant in the Assaults Unit. I have competed in running and cycling events at the California Police and Fire Games, run in the Baker to Vegas Relay as well as several local racing events. I have also competed in five marathons. I was appointed to the PAAF Board in 2009.

Officer Michael WhiteI have been a San Jose police officer since 2008. I have worked Patrol, METRO and the Gang Suppression Unit. I participated in basketball and baseball during high school and later played basketball at the University of the Pacific. I have competed in both 3x3 and 5x5 basketball at the California Police and Fire Games and the United States Police and Fire Championships. I was appointed to the PAAF Board in 2010.

Sergeant Jason PierceI have been a San Jose police officer since 1985. I have worked patrol, Metro Unit and Community Services. I was also vice-president of the California State Crime Stoppers. I participated in football, basketball and baseball during high school. I also competed in football at Santa Clara University and Cal Poly. I have been the head football coach at San Jose High Academy for since 2006. I have competed in football, basketball and softball in the California Police and Fire Games. I have been on the PAAF board since 2004.

Officer Vince AlvarezI joined the San Jose Police Department in 1996. I have competed in boxing and shooting events at the Police Olympics since 2001 bringing home medals in each category. I am currently assigned to patrol.

Officer Eric BachmannI have been a San Jose Police Officer since 2002. I have worked Patrol, Violent Crimes Enforcement Team (VCET), METRO and the Gang Suppression Unit (GSU). I have always been involved in sports and I played volleyball in high school. I have also been a physical training instructor at the police academy since 2007. I enjoy running and have competed with the San Jose Police Department’s Baker to Vegas running team several times. I became a PAAF board member in 2014.

Investigator Mike BraxtoI have been a San Jose Police Officer since 1994. Prior to that, I was a police officer with the City of Berkeley. I have worked Drug Task Force with Berkeley PD, Metro, FTO, Burglary Unit and Assaults Unit with San Jose PD. While in high school I competed in Football, basketball, baseball and track and field. I competed in Track and Field at the George Mason University. In 1992 I won a National Championship and earned a Bronze medal at the Pan-American Games Jr. I have competed in Track and Field, football, softball and basketball at the California Police and Fire Games since 1992.

Officer Mark HernandezI have been a San Jose police officer since 2001. I was a reserve police officer with the San Jose Police Department for five years before being hired full time in 2001. I have worked patrol since 2001 and worked three years with the K-9 Unit while a reserve. I have competed in softball and moto-cross in the California Police and Fire Games. I have been on the PAAF board since 2005.

Sergeant Jim SpenceI have been with the San Jose Police Department since 1969. During this time, I have competed in the California Police and Fire Games and the Police Winter Games. I have participated in soccer, basketball, volleyball, fast pitch softball, decathlon, water polo, slow pitch softball, roller hockey being awarded over 30 medals. I have also been a part of many fundraising efforts. I have been on the PAAF board since 2001.

Officer Andy TrevinoI started my law enforcement career with the San Jose Police Department in July of 1980 and retired in August 2005. I worked patrol, the FTO program, Missing Persons Unit, PAL and Community Services. I have participated in the California Police and Fire Games since 1981. I have competed in basketball and softball in the California Games and the World Police and Fire Games and have won medals at both events. I have also coached PAL baseball and coached the SJPD basketball team and an SJPD softball team. I was also the Executive Director of the 2001 California Police and Fire Games when PAAF and the San Jose Police Department hosted the Games. I have been on the PAAF board since 1983. I was elected president in 1991 and served until 2005. I served as Chief Financial Officer from 2005 until 2008 when I was reappointed president.

Officer Jennifer ValosekI have been a San Jose police officer since 2013. I am currently assigned as a detective in our Sexual Assaults Investigative Unit. I participated and competed in swimming growing up. I am currently an avid non-wetsuit open water swimmer. Some of my longer swims include 13 miles in the San Francisco Bay, 10 miles in the San Francisco Bay, 10k in Alaska and the width of Lake Tahoe. I attended my first United States Police and Fire Championships in 2015. I competed and medaled in several pool swimming events. I became a PAAF Board member in 2015.

Sergeant Paul WooI have worked for the San Jose Police Department since 1988. Before being hired by SJPD, I was an officer with the San Jose State University Police Department. I have been active in sports throughout my lifetime. While attending San Jose State, I was a member of its Men’s Intercollegiate Bowling Team. In addition to bowling, I have played baseball in a men’s senior baseball league since 1995. I compete annually in baseball, softball and bowling at the United States Police and Fire Games. I have also coached in Little League and am currently a district staff umpire. I have served on the PAAF board since 1999.
